As it is International Podcast Day, I thought I would give you an insight to some of my favourite podcasts for you to listen to in your spare time, or even when you’re busy and looking for something to help you concentrate.
1. The Creative Key
This podcast was created by University student, and Youtuber, Laura Medley. Her ambition was to produce a safe space for her audience by giving advice on mental health, self-improvement, as well as giving them an insight to her own daily activities. Laura also discusses her personal interests as she brings you on her journey through life. This podcast is updated weekly and is generally an uplifting product to listen to. However, as well as giving advice and tips, Laura also touches upon negativity and how to deal with it. The content on her podcast differs from the content she creates for her Youtube videos, so her audience are able to separate her video content from her audio content. I really enjoy listening to these when I need a little mood uplift, or if I’m concentrating on a piece of work. There are currently 11 episodes, which are around 30 minutes long, packed with helpful information. You can find this podcast on Spotify and on Apple Music.
2. JaackMaate’s Happy Hour
The Youtuber popular for his Zoella advent calendar video, JaackMaate, has recently paired up with his bestfriend, Stevie White, to create the podcast “JaackMaate’s Happy Hour,” where they interview celebrities, such as Ricky Gervais, usually starting with a question about their favourite meal deals. It’s usually quite a casual, comedic podcast, with a few serious episodes focusing on mental health or societal issues. Jack has recently signed a deal with Spotify, where the podcast has climbed to number 6 in the charts – which is great! I find this a mood boosting podcast, and content that wholly contrasts from JaackMaate’s controversial, comedic Youtube videos. If you want a laugh, this is the podcast for you! New episodes are uploaded every Monday and Thursday.
3. The Eboys podcast
The Eboys have recently soared in popularity on social media, and they are known for their Youtube content, and they have now created their very own podcast. Every Wednesday the group of four, (Will, Alex, George and James) get together and chat about a range of subjects from football and rugby to their guilty pleasures and reality television shows. It’s created for a teenage audience, so their content is often packed with funny euphemisms and jokes that teenagers would typically find comedic. Their podcast allows them to sit back, relax, and mock a range of topics and nothing is taken seriously. You can find this podcast on Spotify, but they also upload this content on to The Eboys Podcast Youtube Channel – so if you can’t access it on Spotify, there is an alternative platform for you to find it on.
Overall, I find these podcasts are good to listen to, and I find myself tuning into them every week! If you haven't listened to these before, use International Podcast Day as an excuse to delve into the creativity and put them on.
