This year things have all run a little differently to what were used to but this December, there’s plenty still on for you and your family to enjoy during the festive period. Here’s the Vibes round up of what you can do in the next month:
Santa’s going to be at the pit in cap house colliery Wakefield for a meet and greet handing out presents for all you nice children from the 5th December to the 24th, socially distancing to keep everyone safe this year. Each child gets a gift covered by the small £8 admission fee to keep the Christmas magic this year.
Ongoing through all of December into the New Year, you can join in with the ‘beautiful Barnsley’ photography competition at cannon hall, the biggest event hosted by cannon hall to date. This is the 13th annual garden photographer competition and is a perfect creative alternative to get out the house and capture some breathtaking wintery scenery. It is not too late to enter, as the closing date is not until the 28th February.
For all you animal Lovers Yorkshire Wildlife Park are hosting a spectacular show of winter illuminations for all the family. Bookings are available from now until 10th January every evening and can be added onto your wildlife park visit during the day also. A perfect Christmassy day out to enjoy in the outdoors and a magical nighttime display.
One for the 80’s babies now at Barnsley museum where they are hosting an interactive experience to bring those 80’s memories flushing back. All those little things you’ve forgotten about from old technology to fashion will be on display to take a walk down memory lane. It will be open to public from 2nd of December to 11th April next year.
From the 11th to the 13th of December 7 Houses around the Kendray area will be decorated with Nativity scenes organized by St. Andrews church and people taking part will be given a map route to find each nativity scene. This event is an amazing learning opportunity for children to learn the origins of Christmas and family activity.
And finally on our list something for all the family this Christmas as Christmas a Drive Thru Cinema at the Gulliver's Valley grounds between Sheffield and Rotherham has been organized showing your favorite festive films to enjoy as a family, as well as being served a range of drinks and movie snacks. Whether you want to watch The Muppet’s Christmas Carol, Die Hard or Home Alone each night from 17th December until 21st December a different movie is available for you to choose from.
Those are a few of my favorites, but there’s plenty to come!
