A petition to ‘axe’ This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby from television recently hit an initial 15,000 target, which has now been increased to 25,000.
Over the past week, thousands of Brits waited in lengthy queues across London, some stretching over 14 hours, with the aim of seeing the late Queen Elizabeth II lying in state at Westminster Hall.
Members of the British public and some travelling from overseas waited through evenings that got as cold as 8°C, and a line from Southwark Park to Westminster Hall. Stewards were even seen handing out donated blankets to cold queue waiters.

A queue of over 14 hours might not sound amusing to some, and luckily for TV presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, they were granted a cut straight through as their ‘press’ status gave them a VIP entry to view the Queen’s coffin.
Cameras caught the pair strolling through the Hall, which was swiftly picked up by the British public. Some labelled the line jump ‘appalling’ and demanded an apology from the This Morning duo.
A petition then came from change.org user Laura Harrison titled ‘Axe Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby from TV’, with the aim of becoming one of the top petitions on the website with 15,000 signatures.

The description read ‘Thousands of people are lining up overnight to pay respects to the Queen, where they will likely wait up to 24 hours.
Yet Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield, two hosts of one of the most damaging to mental health daytime tv show This Morning, were able to push past those thousands and get immediate access.’

After being shared countless times on multiple social media sites, the petition has now hit its initial goal. We now wait for official confirmation on what this means in getting Phillip and Holly ‘axed’ from television.
Not all celebs were given this privilege, as former footballer David Beckham and boxing star Tyson Fury waited in the long queues with the rest of the public.
To add to the criticism, twitter user @princessmiaow pictured members of the public making may for Phillip and Holly to get through, claiming they were allowed straight in front of people who had queued over 13 hours.
