The NHS have stated they will not ‘collapse’ during the Coronavirus second wave, which can also be referred as the ‘winter virus’. However, a second lockdown has been approved and it is set to start from 00:01 Thursday morning. Therefore, if people start following the new rules and regulations from Boris Johnson the NHS will not be in such a bad place compared to March, however, there are still questions regarding how people will follow the rules and regulations.

Health leaders in England have warned the NHS they will not face a ‘normal winter’, with the possibility of more than 10,000 patients being in hospital with COVID-19 cases. Meanwhile, today a further 302 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals to 33,637. NHS in England said on Wednesday. There were also 50 further deaths in Scotland and 44 in Wales.

Furthermore, NHS in England is going to move to its highest alert level from midnight tonight in response to a "serious situation ahead". The NHS in England suggested hospitals could take a maximum of around 20,000 COVID -19 cases before they appear as full.

In conclusion, they warned this tally could be reached within the upcoming weeks, unless infection levels are reduced.
