With a new year comes new schedules and changes to how things run. Barnsley council have released the new 2021 calendar with the new updated days that bins will be collected all across South Yorkshire. All local residents will have free access to this via the Barnsley council website.

Since the swap from paper to online calendars a few years ago as part of the Digital first programme, it means that if local residents don’t have access to the internet then they are urged to seek the help from family or friends as there have been changes made that will be different to the structure of the 2020 calendar. Local libraries are open for printing where it is deemed essential and booked in advanced so if some residents are struggling to gain access to the calendar via friends and family then they should use the library as a last resort to help prevent the spread of covid-19.
This calendar will be in operation from January 2021 to January 2022 and it will also include the changes that will be made around Christmas time and New year.
Councillor Chris Lamb who is cabinet spokesperson for place (environment and transport) has said “our bin calendar design makes it easy for residents to see at a glance when their bin days are”.
With the new and updated calendar for 2021, it will help local residents to keep track with ease of when their bins are due to be collected and hopefully help them to be more prepared.
