Netflix give exclusive look at new series Shadow and Bone

The long awaited and highly anticipated Shadow and Bone series coming to Netflix is getting closer day by day. Today, Netflix have finally released an exclusive look at the show with a few pictures. This new fantasy series, based on the Grishaverse novels, written by Leigh Bardugo, has been vastly anticipated by audiences who adore the novels.

Leigh described the series as a “very different kind of fantasy” and though these photos give us the smallest insight into what will likely be an epic fantasy series, it’s a welcoming sight for excited fans across the globe. Our story is set in Imperial Russia, where our main character Alina Starkov, an orphaned solider discovers her extraordinary power.

In addition, Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows duology is also being adapted alongside Shadow and Bone to create the most impactful show. Bardugo described the storyline as “Ocean's Eleven meets Game of Thrones” when it came to mixing the two series together.

Although these images only give the smallest glimpse of what this eight-episode series has to offer, with a release date of April 23rd, fans don’t think it will be too much longer before the release of a trailer to gain further intrigue for the anticipated series.
