Ben Connolly

(16th – 18th January)

In the Premier League we have a midlands derby between Wolves and West Brom a game which sees the 3 points favoured by most to go Wolves’ way. West Brom visit Moleneux off the back of losing 4 out of their last 5 games.

Claret and Blue vs Claret and Blue as West Ham face Burnley at the London Stadium. Always a tricky game to predict and recent form makes it even harder as both teams have collected similar results in their last 5 games.

Leeds entertain Brighton at Elland Road a game that sees Marcelo Bielsa’s as strong favourites winning 3 of their last 5 whereas Brighton have not recorded a win in that time.

The west London derby tends to be a game where fans look in and think Chelsea are going to trounce Fulham however the 2 teams have racked up the same amount of points (4) in their last 5 games and Fulham have only lost in 1 of those game as a pose to Chelsea’s 3 losses recorded in that time.

Another game very hard to predict is that of Leicester vs Southampton at the King Power. Both teams very well set up and high in the table suggests a good game will unfold and none which team is favourite.

Onto Sunday and in a 12 o’clock kick off from Villa Park we have Aston Villa taking on Everton. Another very difficult game to predict as we have 2 very similar teams, however form suggests Everton’s 4 wins in their last 5 will prove too much for the Villains.

A strongly favoured Tottenham Hotspur travel to South Yorkshire to take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, a game which sees only 1 winner in the betting odds despite Sheffield United recording their first win of the Premier League season Midweek at home to Newcastle.

Anfield is the venue for a classic derby between Liverpool and Manchester United, a game that in recent history has always been an unpredictable game despite Liverpool’s dominance in the Premier League and in Europe. Manchester United travel to Merseyside sitting Top of the League racking up 13 points in their last 5 in comparison to Liverpool’s 8.

In the evening Manchester City host Crystal Palace in a game which sees Roy Hodgson’s side sat 13th in the table with Manchester City 7 places above them in a game which yet again bookies have deemed only 1 winner.

And Monday Night Football sees an entertaining and very unpredictable game between Arsenal and Newcastle, despite both teams inconsistency this season bookies feel that the Newcastle ranks won’t be able to match up to Arsenal’s calibre as they go into this winless in their last 8 games (league and cup)
