Jesy Nelson is taking an “extended” break from Little Mix for private medical reasons

The famous 29 year old singer has confirmed the news through a statement from the bands management.

Nelson has missed numerous public appearances including little mix’s BBC one talent show and the MTV European Music Awards.

The statement was issued by Simon Jones which is little mix’s publicist “Jesy is having extended time off from Little Mix for private medical reasons. We will not be issuing any further comment currently and ask media to please respect her privacy at this time”

Fans of the band noticed that Nelson had been unusually quiet on social media and hadn’t posted on Instagram since 31 October. Nelson has admitted before in the past that she suffers from depression and an eating disorder. Jesy spoke freely about her mental well being during the documentary ‘Jesy Nelson: The Odd One Out’ which addressed body image and the impact of online bullying. The documentary won a national television award.

The pop superstars could all be going solo next year, after it was reported that Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock have all individually been in secret talks to launch separate careers when their current deal comes to an end.

A source has said that Jade and Perrie are looking at new music projects while 29-year-old Leigh-Anne has reportedly been discussing TV ideas.

On 20th August 2011 little mix won the x factor and they have been a girl band for 9 years and their fans are sad that the group could potentially split however they are also very supportive.
