2020 FA Cup winning keeper Emi Martínez joins Aston Villa from Arsenal for around £20 million on a 4-year contract. Martínez spent 10 years at the Gunners making 38 appearances in total.

“Good for Emi. Now he can get first team football and hopefully the no.1 for Argentina...”
Martínez made it clear to Arsenal near the end of the season that he wants more first team football after some excellent performances since Arsenal's number 1 Leno picked up a knee injury in a defeat to Brighton June 2020.
Martínez made 16 appearances, making six clean sheets in the premier league. One Arsenal fan on twitter said “Good for Emi. Now he can get first team football and hopefully the no 1 for Argentina”.
Martínez wasn’t expected to leave the club after being crucial for Arsenal since the injury of Leno and was a key part of the Arsenal side that won the clubs 14th FA Cup.
Martínez spent a lot of his Arsenal time in the championship on loan making around 50 appearances. He also had loans at Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United, Wolves and most recently Reading last season.
Martínez is Villa’s third signing following full back Matty Cash from Nott’s Forest and their record signing Ollie Watkins from Brentford.
