Dan Jarvis has said a further £125m is needed to fully protect South Yorkshire
An £80m investment has been given in help to get south Yorkshire floods under control. As we storm through to 2021 governments have said that “We all have in mind the hugely damaging floods that battered South Yorkshire in November 2019.” This statement seems highly promising as they also state “This is a good start, but I'm determined to secure the remaining £125m from government to fully protect homes and businesses in our region."
The SCR also says that more is needed to fully protect the region. The money will be divided into 27 schemes. Natural flood management across the river don catchment and schemes at Bentley then more. This along with the statement “determined to secure the remaining £125m” this is looking promising.
