"What I didn’t see coming is that lockdown brought me something a little bit more special"
Looking after your mental health is just as important as your physical health, especially during a global pandemic.
With the uncertainty of what is going on in the world today, young people are having to deal with all the changes and trying to stay safe. Everyone knows that being a teenager is hard enough let alone having to live through a global pandemic.
Although many young people have been struggling with their mental health throughout the past 6 months, and with the threats of a second lockdown many young people will be struggling with the idea of being stuck in their own mind. However, with the right support system around them and with the right resources to help with negative thoughts young people can hopefully have a more positive experience this time around. “Lockdown was not ideal for me; however, amongst the many down sides to lockdown, there was a lot of positives.”
“I was missing football as football was a constant in my life that always helped me through the tough times and without it throughout lockdown; I was questioning whether I could make it through it. What I didn’t see coming is that lockdown brought me something a little bit more special and so making lockdown a lot more bearable.”
After speaking to Ben Connolly, a Barnsley college student, it gave more of an insight into how even through the hardest of times you can still be positive.
If you or anyone that you know is struggling through these difficult times, then please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask for help.
