Can you help find Richard Dyson?

Stacey Moriarty

Richard Dyson went missing last year, at the age of 56. His daughter is now pleading to end the ongoing “bad dream” she had over the last year and find him.

Last year, on the 25th of November, the daughter of Richard Dyson reported her father missing and pled for people to find him. A long process awaited them as the investigation still continues today. This mystery has led to police widening their investigation from Elsecar and Hoyland to the whole of South Yorkshire. Police plead, no matter the importance of the information, if they you have anything please contact them. Anonymous or not they, they need to know what has happened to her father.

The description of the man is about 5ft 10ins – 6ft tall, of a slim build and with short, grey hair. The father had been spotted walking towards Sheffield road near Hoyland. The man has now been missing for almost a year and the daughter is pleading again that if people have seen him anywhere please get in touch with the police.

She is describing the events of the year “like a bad dream I can’t get away from” and she says, “I don’t deserve this”

The daughter said she dropped him off in Aston, Rotherham, on the 15th of November last year. Then he did not go to their next arrangement that was planned out (he never missed these arrangements) and did not tell her or give her a reason why, so she reported him missing.

The detective inspector Neil Coop says, “My team has trawled CCTV footage, conducted house-to-house enquiries, forensically examined Richard’s cars and carried out extensive telecoms work.” The id Coop teams are particularly interested in the last moment leading to the investigation. Questioning why was he walking up through Sheffield road, Hoyland. The main question is, where did he go afterwards?

The police need your help finding the father of Bethany, and would like all information you have on his last few steps. To get in contact with them you can contact them though 101 or submit information anonymously online via the Major Incident Public Portal.
