Boris Johnson urges Brits to support local business and go to the cinemas but won’t allow football fans back into stadiums?
UK PM wants the public to go to cinemas after Cineworld come out and announce they are closing all UK cinemas following the announcement that the new James Bond film release has been pushed back until 2021. This will mean that 45,000 jobs are affected. But if we can go to the inside cinemas, surely we can go to football matches, socially distanced and outside making the virus less likely to spread.
The Premier league and the football league have set up a petition for fans to sign which is to let fans back into stadiums. Once this petition gets 100,000 it will have to be brought up in parliament meaning that a proper discussion will be held about the matter. Football fans all over England will be hoping that they decide to allow fans back into stadiums. A large reason as to why clubs are pushing to have fans back is because they need the money. Many clubs are struggling to pay bills and wages as their biggest form of income are sat at home every week. Without fans, Football isn’t the same and hopefully Boris decides in favor of football.
